Just Some Questions

Below are questions I have asked myself throughout the past week. Instead of writing what my answers to them would be I am interested in any answers you may have, or additional questions you have asked yourself.

For the week starting Saturday December 12, 2009 here are some questions I have had:

In Copenhagen, Obama and other leaders agreed to set a target of temperature increase of two degrees Celsius; has anyone told God?

Do you think it is funny when someone stumbles over the word “eloquent?”

Can you give Congress a synonym for “back home projects?”

Would you rather have opportunity or assistance?

If you go to a website to “unsubscribe” are you put on someone else’s list?

If there were to be a statue made of you what age would you want it to be and what would you be doing?

Kid #2 Question: Do you think sunsets are romantic?

Have you ever noticed how many things on your to-do list or your email in-box take care of themselves while you are attending to other matters?

Do you ever use your cell phone as a flashlight?

Kwanzaa?

Crushed or cubed?

Kid Question #1: What is your favorite board game?

Does anyone really want to relinquish control of our economy to a group that gives a standing ovation to Hugo Chavez and whose primary supporters demonstrate under communist and socialist banners?

Have you ever had a white Christmas?

How do you feel about the future of our country’s health being decided by one man who is forcing his colleagues to vote on a bill no one except him has seen as he buys his votes and changes his bill?

Worst Christmas present you ever got? (Look for Monday’s post where I will detail worst one I gave…)

Kids school had pajama day today, if your work had pajama day what would you be wearing?

Are you like me and surprised no woman has come forward yet with a Tiger-child?

What makes a “great city?”

How many Mths in the Nth degree?

What is the one thing you want for Christmas this year that you haven’t told anyone?

Who else can get away with a hundred billion for homeless and call it “stimulus”?

What would you term an “Enterprise Zone” filled with vacant store fronts?

Cookies or Pie?

So those are the questions, what are your answers? Click on the comments button below and let us know what you think.

Why tell God about global warming? She didn't do it...

It makes me wonder whether they're rhetorically "playing within themselves."

Congress has one. It's called "bringing home the bacon." And they're GOOD at it.

If it'a available, I'll take both opportunity and assistance. This last year, neither one has been offered to us with generosity.

No, I'm not transferred. If I were, the new "lister" would most likely regret it.

For my statue, I'll take me as I am now, sailing our 44-ft sloop in the general direction of Mexico.

I'm not your big sunset fan. Pretty, yes. Oooh-lah-lah romantic, no.

Most of the things in my inbox seem remarkably persistent. I'd be happy to trade most of them for the kind that solve themselves.

No. I barely use my cell phone as a cell phone.

Kwanzaa is not my holiday, but then neither is Hanukkah, nor Eid. Happy Holidays to all as they celebrate.

Cubed

Monopoly

No -- but who might that be?

I lived on the East Coast for 30 years, so yes, I have. Snow is not the recreational substance it sometimes appears to be in climates that keep it in the mountains.

I feel much better about the people working to bring some measure of reform and equality to our health care system than I do about those fighting to make sure my sister-in-law will never get her hips fixed.

Never got a bad gift. Got lots of curious ones, or ones I didn't know quite what to do with. But all gifts come with the care of the giver, and are thus valuable.

Um...I don't usually wear pajamas...

Maybe Tiger decided that if he couldn't be good, he'd be careful...

A truly great city has a sense of identity. There are Londoners, and New Yorkers, and Parisians. Their cities may not be the cleanest, or the safest, or the best organized - but they're PLACES. What reaction to you have to Portlanders, or Singaporeans, or Cape Towners? All lovely cities, all well run, all with beauty and opportunity - but not a London, or a Paris, or a New York.

Huh?

I want a family that is healthy and content. I want loving friends and colleagues I trust and respect. Happily, I have that.

I didn't know anyone DID get away with 100 billion for the homeless, but I'll take your word for it. If they did, good for them. The last few homeless people I've seen could use a few bucks. Oh....you're talking about the health clinics. Sorry. They're not just for the homeless. Poor people who haven't yet been evicted can go there, too. And let's remember -- the people who get treated there are less likely to show up in the County emergency wards that YOU pay for.

I'd say it was likely the victim of ruthless offshoring by lazziez-faire idiots, who think more of their short-term profits than their country. I'd further say that the idiots were aided and abetted by soulless bankers who would loan a company millions to move to India but nothing to build a business here. But that's me....

I have Type 2 Diabetes, so my correct answer is, "neither." If nobody's looking, I'll have pie, thank you.

yes! Assistance if I'm hungry right now and opportunity so I won't be hungry tomorrow.

If you go to a website to “unsubscribe” are you put on someone else’s list?
I worry about this too sometimes

Kid #2 Question: Do you think sunsets are romantic?
If I'm having a quiet moment with my sweetheart - then any time of day is romantic

Do you ever use your cell phone as a flashlight?
LOL - happened this weekend when my son dropped his cellphone in the movie theater.

Kid Question #1: What is your favorite board game?
Does Apples to Apples count? it comes in a box. We play more card games than board games. Uno and Canasta are other family favorites

I live most of my life in New England or the midwest - so yes, lots of snowy winters. Fun if you can stay home and play in it - not so fun if you need to shovel and brave the roads.
