indigenous to Bolivia and Argentina

I have worked pretty closely with just about every major health insurance providers for the last 10 years and I consistently find the federal programs to be fairer and easier to work with than the vast majority (though not all) of private companies.

presently? Seems to me two main groups – LGBT folks, and anyone the chief executive labels a “terrorist”

There was a firestorm in Long Beach recently over members of council being on the internet during weekly council meeting, shouldn't public be more concerned with city/county/state workers and staff spending hours each day on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and other social media sites that have zero to do with public business?

I do believe people are capable of multitasking. In fact, in this day and age, it seems to me necessary.

What does cap and trade have to do with first time homeowners? I don’t get it; can you elaborate?

When four justices on the Supreme Court think it is legal for governments to judge employees because of race, how far does that mean we have to go to end racism in America?

You are begging the question. I think what affirmative action does is not judge people on race, but on their character. It’s a given that people of color experience discrimination, and therefore equal performance by two people – one with dark skin, another with light – is a good indication that the person of color has a greater character, because they’ve had to overcome adversity that no white person ever has to experience. When you start the marathon a mile back from the other runners, and finish in tie, you won. Is this really so hard to understand?

Will my kids give me a card that says Happy XLVII?

If you’re 47, and your kids are Roman citizens, then yes.

State of California investigating, DEA investigating, LAPD investigating and deploying thousands of personnel, custody suits, legal challenges, how much will Michael Jackson’s death cost the taxpayers of Los Angeles, California and the United States?

too much. What a joke.

Is it me or has the focus and concern, dare I say hope, on the Iran election demonstrations died?

No, still going. Note the group of clerics defying the supreme leader yesterday. Now, can we all put the same focus on Honduras, where the situation is just as dire if not more so? Or do we only rail against oppression when our enemies do it, but ignore it when it tends to favor our own material interests?

Can you name another gift from one country to another that is equal to the gift from France to America, the Statue of Liberty?

The gifts of England to United States: Parliamentary government, the English language.
The gifts of China to the United States: Cheap labor.
